
Psychologist & Parenting Expert
Corinn A. Elmore, PhD, is a licensed psychologist, consultant, author and speaker.
Dr. Elmore completed her Master’s Degree in Marital and Family Therapy at Northwestern University and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a speciality in children and families at Loyola University Chicago. She completed residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Elmore pioneered the first integrated pediatric behavioral health service in the National Capital Region of the Department of Defense where she served as acted as a consultant and subject matter expert on a multidisciplinary team of pediatricians, nurses and allied health staff. Throughout her decades long career, Dr. Elmore has served in several roles including as a staff psychologist in a child protection center providing Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as a health psychologist at a large military hospital, a Director at an urban non-profit, and as a professor. a
Currently Dr. Elmore maintains a private practice specializing in parental coaching and therapy for individual adults managing life transitions. Dr. Elmore helps families develop their own parenting models that are specific to the culture of their family.
A firm believer in population health, Dr. Elmore provides specialty consultation services to hospitals and medical clinics seeking to integrate behavioral health services into their practice.
Her writing, research, and consultation practices align with her clinical areas of expertise and uses a multisystemic framework as a base for exploration. Dr. Elmore is committed to underserved children and families by working through the systems in which they are involved. She is a leader in the American Psychological Association (APA) having served as Chair of APA’s Committee on Children Youth and Families and in various leadership roles throughout APA Divisions. She has published several articles and books chapters on parenting, culturally relevant practices, and integrated care.
